Perla - Casasviejas (DCP011)
de'fchild productions is proud to introduce Perla and present his debut 12" record, entitled “Casasviejas” (DCP011). The vinyl record will be in finer record stores next week, while digital versions are available today on Beatport and KompaktMP3
The Promotional Blurb: Hailing from Cadiz, but now residing in San Francisco, Perla will mark his debut with a 12" single entitled “Casasviejas”. Perla has been rocking dancefloors as a DJ for many years and brings a finely tuned ear and keen sense of musical aesthetics to his production. His music blends the melodic sensibilities of Prosumer or Minilogue with the warm instrumentation evocative of San Francisco producers Broker/Dealer. Subsuming the occasional flourish, while building elaborate layers of multivariate, ever-changing sounds, his arrangments have a dynamism that borders on this side of frenetic but with a rare subtleness and depth. In 2008, San Francisco experienced a veritable techno renaissance, with artists like Limaçon (Resopal, Pokerflat, Force Inc, Auralism) leading the way in collaboration with labels like Auralism Records run by Jason Short & Marc Smith, who record as COTK (Coalition of the Killing). These fine gentlemen team up for remix duty on the flip side and dish out a spirited & hearty ration of local flavour with two mesmerizing reinterpretations. Sunday, Nov 30 2008 - 08:15

Vimeo
Last summer we posted the above time-lapse video, created by our friend Mike Stern and set to our music (DCP002). Last week we discovered Vimeo, a video-centric social networking site as a way to better share our videos and to peep some really fresh work that otherwise isn't available through conventional vectors. So we're reposting the video (click!), hosted on Vimeo. Now, rather than sit statically in an archived post, it can live longer and better in the context of an interconnected community, and be embedded and shareable across the interweb (facebook, digg, myspace, etc), most notably in our new videos tab.
