SuperCollider

Nice to see that SuperCollider (a popular and powerful interpreted audio synthesis language) is available as a free public domain Sourceforge project.

The big news that this historically Mac-only program now has a Windows port plus both MacOS X and Windows versions are under active development by the community.

Back in the day at Bregman, I used to enjoy dabbling in SC, only recreationally though! hehe. Then in 2002, following some in-depth discussions with Nick on his work on Interactive Evolution of Breakbeat Sequences, my work on Riddim and what eventually became Galileo, we exchanged code in SC. Looks like it is time to pull out that old source and take it for a spin on the Windows port.
