groovin' with the millimeters
Check out this interview by Michael F. Gill and his quirky Stephen-Hawking-voiced assistant as they kick it with Smartypants (of zer0g, Traum & Sentrall fame) on their Groovin' With The Millimeters show. Gill is an interesting interviewer with a very distinctive voice and laugh, he goes from a rather clunky and albeit unnecessary defense of techno in “rock city” Boston (where he claims everyone listens to Aerosmith and The Cars) to an overindulgent drop the needle session with Smartypants aka Mike Uzzi. Uzzi gives a nice summary of his background as a musician who came to Boston to study classical music, the current scene in Beantown, Eddie's label zer0g and plans for a new unlocked groove label with artists from the long running Appliance of Science night in Cambridge. Don't miss the really awesome Rainbow Bright track towards the beginning of this 50 minute interview/set. Thursday, Jun 30 2005 - 11:24
